Meet Our Team

At Carman’s Canines, we believe that all dogs deserve compassionate care, tailored training, and a safe, happy environment. Founded by Izzy Carman during her university days, our team has grown into a dedicated group of professionals united by a shared love for dogs. Drawing on years of hands-on experience and a commitment to their well-being, we strive to provide exceptional services tailored to the unique needs of every dog in our care.

Hi, I'm Izzy Carman

My passion for dogs started early on: my first sentence was "Can I stroke your dog, please?" Dogs have played a major role throughout my life: I’ve grasped every opportunity to pursue my passion, gaining considerable canine experience. Over many years, I have provided dog sitting and walking services, nurtured and trained puppies, and offered my time to volunteer in dog shelters.

Having graduated from the University of Bath with a first-class degree in Education with Psychology, I am thrilled to apply my psychological knowledge in my work as a dog trainer.

In March 2020, whilst in my first year at University, I successfully established Carman’s Canines as a grooming business, dedicating every weekend to looking after multiple dogs. By volunteering at dog shelters in Malaga, Spain and in Thailand, I gained valuable experience working closely with challenging and traumatised dogs while addressing various behavioural difficulties.

My affection for dogs, combined with my experience and understanding of them enable me to employ tailored approaches to cater to the individual needs of each dog in all of our services. My unwavering ethical commitment centres on ensuring the well-being of every dog with which I work. Using positive training techniques, my primary objective is to positively impact on as many dogs as possible.

Hi, I'm Madison

I have had a passion for all animals ever since I can remember. Fascinated and intrigued by their behaviours, I always wanted to learn more and would spend my time reading books about them. I became more focused on dogs, learning about different breeds, the history behind them and behaviours specific to each breed. I grew up in a house with cats and pleaded for a dog for years and years until finally, my dream came true and our family got our first rescue dog when I was eight years old. I learnt so much from him as he had a lot of tricky behaviours, but also the best personality.

My interest in dog behaviour grew from there and, after working in other fields, it became apparent that the only career I was interested in pursuing was within the animal sector.  For three years, I worked at a veterinary practice before securing a job at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, working with dogs in the kennels. I remained at Battersea for a little under five years, gaining an abundance of knowledge and experience through working with dogs in kennels; assessing and making observations on their behaviour; and carrying out training plans and completing onsite training. Working with dogs in a kennel environment, you see some of the more extreme behavioural issues that you might never see in a home environment. Working on these issues in a very tense and stressful environment can be very challenging, but also highly rewarding. I absolutely loved my time working in rescue and was very sad to leave, but am very lucky to be able to continue doing something I love – and, in doing so, provide you and your fur babies with the highest standard of care and respect while training through positive reinforcement methods.
